Illustrator and designer Rubi Do Trinh was born and raised in the southern region of Vietnam among the rivers and floating markets. She left Vietnam and went to New Zealand for high school and America for university. Because she experience constant change for most of her young life — new environments and cultures — the art she creates are essentially stories about what grounds her. Rubi seeks comfort in the quiet moments in nature, because there she feels the connection with the common roots of all lives on Earth and a true sense of belonging.
Rubi Do Trinh is a visual development artist and illustrator for animation, video games, and publishing — specializing in fantastical, and narrative-driven characters. Rubi currently lives in Seattle, WA.
KOBO is pleased to present Rubi's original watercolors in two series: Sacred Knowledge Keepers and Woodland Treasures. Each giving our imaginations a much needed dose of whimsy, and an appreciation for the world around us.
