Illustrator and designer Rubi Do Trinh was born and raised in the southern region of Vietnam among the rivers and floating markets. She left Vietnam and went to New Zealand for high school and America for university. Because she experienced so much change as a young person, most of her art is about what grounds her. Rubi seeks comfort in the quiet moments in nature, because there she feels a connection with the common roots of all life on Earth and a true sense of belonging.
Rubi Do Trinh is a visual development artist and illustrator for animation, video games, and publishing — specializing in fantastical, and narrative-driven characters. Rubi currently lives in Seattle, WA.
KOBO is pleased to present Rubi's original watercolors in two series: Sacred Knowledge Keepers and Woodland Treasures. Each gives our imaginal realm a much-needed dose of the ethereal magic in the world we live in.
