Sayuri Fukuda was born in Ibaraki, Japan. She studied Glass Art and Craft at Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo. After graduation, she worked as a glass blowing artist at Glass Studio Silica and as a studio assistant at the Uzawa Glass Studio. In 2012, she moved to England and assisted artist Adam Aaronson at his studio.

Much of her influences derive from finding the connection between nature, culture and people she has encountered in the places she has lived and traveled to.

For Sayuri, the joy of creation is about combining beauty with function, as well as incorporating expressions from nature and understanding the characteristics of the material -- all, a dance, a movement, a flow to form.
