This is the most popular type of Japanese green tea. The tea has a light and grassy taste as well as a pleasant fragrance of young spring leaves.

Sencha contains theanine – a natural umami component. It also contains vitamin C and catechin that works as an antioxidant. Brewing suggestion: Heat water to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Add about 1 teaspoon for a 8oz cup, and steep for approximately 50 seconds, or more depending on your preference.
