Iwami yaki Suribachi. Hand-worked jagged grooves inside the bowl grinds ingredients into a fine paste or powder. Non-slip silicone rubber on the bottom stabilizes bowl. Also protects table from scratches while grinding.
Hot water, microwave, boiling water sterilization, dish washer is okay.
Avoid oven, and direct flame
