Heiando Japanese Lacquerware Tiered Box - Nichigetsu

"Nichi-Getsu" means the sun and moon in Japanese. The gold and silver half moon geometric shapes and composition create a modern impression using traditional techniques. Urushi (lacquer) is a 100% ecological coating made from the Rhus Verniciflua tree sap mixed with mineral-based pigments. Hand painted lid features maki-e (gold gilding ) ultra fine gold powder over wet lacquer. Two tiers lined with felt.

Care instructions:
To restore luster, polish with a soft dry cloth, and if necessary a drop or two of vegetable oil. Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, excessive moisture.
