"Shun" = Spring, "Ju" = Autumn. Spring is represented by the sakura flower, and autumn by the maple leaf. Rounded lacquer accessory box and lid. Traditional urushi lacquer and makie. Suggested use: confectionary bowl, jewelry box, serving tsukemono (pickles) for a dinner party, a place for tiny love letters, and many more possibilities. Urushi (lacquer) is a 100% ecological coating material made from the Rhus Verniciflua tree sap mixed with mineral-based pigments. Hand painted on lid features maki-e (gold gilding )ultra fine gold powder over wet lacquer.

Wash in lukewarm water with a soft sponge. To restore luster, polish with a soft dry cloth, and if necessary a drop or two of vegetable oil. Avoid direct sunlight, microwave, dishwasher, stoves, heaters, excessive moisture, sharp utensils such as knife or fork.
