Heiando Japanese Lacquer Jewelry/Accessory Box - Ume

"Ume" is the plum flower that represents early spring in Japan. The ume pattern symbolizes patience and vitality. It is an auspicious sign since it is the first flower that blooms in the cold of winter. Two-tiered, felt lining. Exquisite, finely crafted Urushi boxes, hand-lacquered by Yamada Heiando, lacquerware purveyors to Japan's Imperial Household since 1919.
