A palm-sized Paulownia wood box crafted by Masuya, a company in Oita, founded in 1930, with Japanese Seigaiha (Wave) design. The Seigaiha(Wave) pattern has a meaning of peaceful days. Inside the box, there are mini Japanese scissors made in Niigata, which are attached to the magnet of the lid, a tiny plum shaped pincushion, thread and needles. The pincushion is made from Noto Futakoshi Chirimen, which has a unique texture, and each piece is threaded by hand with care to give it a beautiful texture. (Plum shape is a crest of the Maeda family, who were very powerful lords, continuing for 14th generations in Kanazawa city.) One-touch needles from Hiroshima where have been making needles for over 300 years. This needle is magically easy to put through a thread into the hole of the needle.
