Clifton Karhu (1927-2007) was an American who moved to Japan in 1955. He learned \u003cem\u003eukiyo-e\u003c\/em\u003e, woodblock printing, and made his own prints which he was known for, both in Japan and worldwide.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese images are his illustrations inspired by Japanese proverbs. Every month is a different proverb written in Japanese and English in his handwriting, his whimsical painting, and the days of the month below. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e12-month calendar is bound at the top edge. Cord is attached to hang. This is a long, very vertical format, some describe it as scroll-like.
