This is a vintage tiger ceramic bell (dorei). Based on the zodiac, these were considered amulets to ward off evil and made room for good luck. (Years of the Tiger: 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022.) Dorei are still made today and generally sold at shrines and temples at the New Year.
