Heiando Lacquerware Plate - Mitsu-ame

Mitsu-ame (mitsu = honey, light) is a beautiful color and will complement the delicious offerings you serve on this plate. Traditionally used for serving Japanese cuisine, especially cakes and candies (i.e. sweets for a tea ceremony). Urushi (lacquer) is a 100% ecological coating material made from the Rhus Verniciflua tree sap mixed with mineral-based pigments. Each piece is painted by hand.

Care instructions:
Wash in lukewarm water with a soft sponge. To restore luster, polish with a soft dry cloth, and if necessary a drop or two of vegetable oil. Avoid direct sunlight, microwave, dishwasher, stoves, heaters, excessive moisture, sharp utensils such as knife or fork.
