Atsushi Tanaka is an award winning wood sculptor known for his charming illustrations of everyday life in Japan. His studio is on a small island off the coast of Shikoku. This wood sculpture, 'Koinobori' (Boy on Red Carp) shows a boy on a red carp windsock, traditionally flown on Children's Day to wish children the vitality and strength of the spirited fish.
