Yuko immigrated to the US from Tokyo, Japan, and now lives in the foothills of the North Cascades in WA, where she has been strongly influenced by the ambience of the rural life. Her Soulbird series began by documenting the diversity of the expressions of birds in nature to capture its beauty, vibrancy and sensibility.
