Sequoia Miller

As a child of both New York City and Maine, and inspired by both folklore art and a Russian artist, Malevich, Sequoia Miller always sees his potttery as exploring the tensions between a rural ideal with an urban experience. Right now he is taking a little hiatus from active studio making, and studying 13th – 15th century Islamic pots, German post-war industrial design, Stalinist architecture and graphics, Norman mosaics in Sicily in the 11th century, etc.
