Yoshino Cedar Chopsticks with Chopsticks Rest - 10 pair

This product has been made using the “Yoshino cedar” grown in the Yoshino forest in Nara prefecture, said to be the highest grade of Japanese wood. Yoshino cedar has a beautiful wood grain, completely clear of knots with a subtle fragrance.

Senno Rikyu (tea master 1522-1591) has been known his hospitality of making chopsticks himself from a cedar material from Yoshino forest on the very morning of his tea ceremony. He wished to deliver the scent of freshly shaven cedar for his guests. His true sense of hospitality started even before his guests arrived, and his thought was gratefully welcomed by his company.
