The three traditional motif of pine (sho), bamboo (chiku) and plum flower (bai), are drawn on a canvas. Pine is recognized as the symbol of longevity, bamboo as the symbol of success and the plum flower is represents patience. In Japan, "Sho-Chiku-Bai" has been recognized as an auspicious pattern and often used for celebrations.
